In 2023 Guess began a customer trade-in program for used clothing in all their US stores with the intention of keeping these items out of landfill. They turned to Homeboy Threads to responsibly sort them for reuse and recycling. In 2024 Guess expanded their trade-in program to online customers in partnership with SuperCircle, with Homeboy on the receiving end of every customer’s mail-in items. In addition to processing customer clothing, Homeboy also diverts any in store damages that Guess accumulates, helping reduce waste and increase responsible reuse and recycling.
To date, Homeboy Threads handled and diverted 109,000 pounds of Guess material from landfill.
Homeboy Threads also supports Guess’ remanufactured collection by sourcing and sorting post-consumer Guess apparel to be used in the remanufacturing process. This requires sortation by fabric types and color.
